Melissa Neeley, Media Specialist
The BES Media Center is a state of the art library that is fully computerized. It consists of 3 separate work areas, a group reading area, a lounge area, and a technology center that contains 8 workstations for student use.
The BES Media Center houses 11,291 titles. This includes books, videos, CD’s, DVD’s, periodicals, and various pieces of equipment such as VCR’s and cassette players. Material is weeded and updated on a regular basis to provide students and teachers current information to meet their needs.
BES students visit the media center on a regular schedule. During their classes they enjoy oral reading, silent reading, and library skills lessons. Our two main goals are to help children develop a genuine love for reading and to learn how to use the library independently to find answers to their questions.
