10/19/2020 COVID-19 Update for Families

COVID UPdate for FamiliesOn Monday, 10-19-2020, Rockcastle County Schools Superintendent Carrie Ballinger was notified by the Rockcastle County Health Department that our community COVID-19 incidence rate had risen to 26.5, due to a recent rise in cases.  This increase puts our county in a Red status overall.  As a result, and out of an abundance of caution, Rockcastle County Schools will return to virtual learning or NTI at all schools from Wednesday, 10-21-2020 through Friday, 10-23-2020. This means that all students will utilize their Chromebooks to complete learning at home, using lessons assigned in Google classroom or Odyssey on those days.

On Friday afternoon, Superintendent Ballinger will review the COVID-19 incidence rate to determine whether or not school will resume in-person classes on Monday, 10-26-2020.  An update will be posted on Friday evening.  We ask everyone to be patient and mindful about using all safety precautions so that we might return to in-person school as soon as possible.
