March 12, 2020
Dear Rockcastle County Families,
In response to Governor Andy Beshear’s recommendation, Rockcastle County Schools will be closed beginning Monday, March 16th, 2020 in order to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Students will return to school on Monday, March 30, 2020. The safety of our students, staff and community is our number one priority and we are working with local health officials to determine our next steps in helping our community to weather this health crisis together. We want to reassure you that we will do everything we can to return to school as soon as we can safely do so.
Rockcastle County Schools will monitor this situation on a daily basis and may implement measures to assist our families with needed services as we are permitted and able. Please monitor our district website for additional information and communication as we move forward.
The most up-to-date information is available online by going to: the Cabinet for Health and Family Services’ Coronavirus webpage, which includes information from the Center for Disease Control: kycovid19.ky.gov. The Kentucky Department of Public Health has established a hotline and information center where people can get answers to their questions by calling 1-800-722-5725.
