MVES 2nd Graders Visit Salt Petre Cave

Mt. Vernon Elementary School 2nd Graders took a field trip last week to Salt Petre Cave.  Mrs. Paula Cowan’s class is shown outside the cave entrance. The students had a great time learning about the history of the cave as well as searching for bats.  The class would like to thank the guides who provided such an awesome tour!

MVES Student Council Members Elected

MVES Student Council

Mt. Vernon Elementary School fifth grade students selected Emily Renner as Class President for the 2018-2019 school year.  Other council members are: Darcy Barton, Addy King, Zeke Fain and Kayla Miller.

MVES Participates in “The Ned Show”

Aurora Reyes participated in “The Ned Show” at MVES on Tuesday, September 18th. She won the balloon “crown” for reminding students to N-never give up, E-encourage others, and always D-do their best to be successful in school and achieve their dreams.”

MVES Students Perform Shakespeare Shorties-The Tempest

MVES School News 4/17/2018

Girl Scouts meet each Wednesday after school.

After school tutoring ends on Tuesday, April 24.

SBDM Parent Election will be Wednesday, April 18.

Kindergarten performance is scheduled for Thursday, April 19 at 6:00.

Last day for Preschool is Thursday, April 26.

2018-2019 Preschool & Kindergarten Registration

There are two programs in Rockcastle County that offer free early childhood education services to qualifying four year old children. (Three year old children may be eligible with an identified disability.) The programs are: The Rockcastle County Public Preschool and Kentucky River Foothills Head Start.
