RCHS Band Students Selected for EKU Honor Band

2019 Rockcastle County High School College Fair

Rockcastle County High School hosted a college fair for current juniors and senior students on Monday, November 25th.  Twenty-two colleges, universities and technical schools were on site to talk with students. Special thanks to the University of the Cumberlands for providing lunch to all representatives.

Kentucky Authors Visit Senior English Classes

Kentucky authors,  Carrie Mullins and Robert Gipe visited Markita Proctor’s senior English classes on Tuesday , November 19th to discuss their novels Night Garden and Trampoline. The students are studying Appalachian culture and Kentucky Literature.

Alumni Come Home for Rocket Madness

Nearly 30 former Rockets and Lady Rockets returned back to Rock Arena to participate in the 1st Annual Alumni Game at Rocket Madness.

Marching Rockets Become Marching Colonels for A Day

Coffey Excels in Bulldog Memorial Archery Tournament

Kyle Coffey recently competed in the Bulldog Memorial Tournament at John Hardin High School where he won two medals.  He placed 5th overall in Bulls-eye with a score of 276 and 13 tens and 2nd place overall in IBO 3D with a score of 282 with 16 tens.  Way to go Kyle!

RCHS Students Skype with Author Silas House

Students in Mrs. Markita Proctor’s senior English classes and students in Mrs. Holly Robinson’s Arts and Humanities class are participating in an Appalachian studies unit. They are reading Clay’s Quilt and Parchment of Leaves by Silas House who took a moment out of his busy schedule to Skype with students on Friday, November 15th.
