With several outstanding performances, the RCHS girls’ cross-country team placed 6th at the Class 2A State Cross-Country Championships at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington on Saturday. The team was ranked 12th coming into the meet and finished just behind Lexington Catholic who finished 5th. Highlands won the team championship. The core of the Lady Rocket’s team will remain intact for the next two seasons, providing them with many excellent opportunities to contend for the team state championship title. RCMS 7th grader Tori Dotson had an incredible 9th place finish for RCHS at the Class 2A State Cross-Country Championships at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington on Saturday. Tori ran the 2nd fastest time of her career, 19:43, and the fastest time ever for an RCHS girl in state championship competition. With her awesome performance, Tori was named to the KTCCCA All-State team, completing the most amazing season ever for an RCHS cross-country athlete. Tori next competes on November 22 for Team Kentucky in the Youth National Cross-Country Championships in Nashville, Tennessee where she has an excellent chance at winning a national championship title.
RCHS freshman Grant Isaacs has had a great season and ran an awesome race at the Class 2A State Cross-Country Championships at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington on Saturday. Grant shattered his all-time personal best mark by 24 seconds, finishing with an awesome new career best time of 18:45. Grant placed 9th among all freshman boys, confirming his status as one of the brightest young high school runners in the state.
