Mt. Vernon Message 11/14/2017

Archery practice is every Monday until 5:00.  Remember that if there is no school, there is no archery practice and at the moment practices will not be made up.  If you are considering purchasing your child a bow, it must be a Matthews Genesis bow. However, it is not necessary to do so as the school has enough bows for every participant.  If you have any questions see a coach after practice or call MVES.

Friday, November 17 we will have Silcox Shaved Ice.

KPREP Scrimmage testing on Monday, November 20.

Our last day of school before Thanksgiving is Tuesday, November 21.

Class News

This past Friday, all fifth grade Mt. Vernon Elementary students celebrated Veteran’s Day with a variety of activities.  The day started with a visit from Master Sargent Chris Mason of the Air Force Reserve.  Mr. Mason spoke to students about his over twenty years of experience in the military.  Other topics included: integrity, service before self, and excellence in all you do.  Students also attended the Veteran’s Day Celebration at the Rockcastle County Middle School.  Students enjoyed guest speakers, music, and paying respect to those who have or are currently serving in the United States military.  Students made “thank you” cards for to show their appreciation.
