Mt. Vernon Message April 11, 2016

After-School enrichment continues on each Monday from 3:15 until 4:30.  The last day of enrichment is Monday, April 18.

Brownies (2nd & 3rd Grades) will meet each Wednesday from 3:30 until 4:30.

Tutoring will be each Tuesday from 3:30 until 4:30.  Parents must pick up their children.

Mrs. Kathy’s first grade class would like to say “thank you” to Mrs. Pam Martin from Sparks Flowers and More for visiting our classroom to teach us all about flowers.  We have been learning about plants as part of our Imagine It! Reading and Mrs. Pam knows EVERYTHING about flowers, even the silk ones!!!  We compared real and silk flowers and discussed the pros and cons of each style, discussed uses for flowers, and brainstormed what the world would be like without flowers.  Mrs. Pam brought many different flowers for the class to explore and we LOVED getting to smell and touch so many different varieties.    Mrs. Pam gave us a daffodil to use in science, demonstrated the proper techniques for arranging flowers while making a beautiful arrangement for our classroom, and brought us cupcakes for a treat.  Thank you Mrs. Pam!
