MVES Sir Readalot Ulrich Book Fair

MVES Library Media Center sponsored the Sir Readalot Ulrich Book Fair December 1-5th.  Several grand events took place throughout the week.  During Tuesday’s Family Event Night, Gene Cordova presented a magical celebration of Dr. Seuss and his books making the most famous Dr. Seuss books magically come alive for our young readers and their families.  Families were entertained by talented Mustangs Mya Hunt, Peyton Cotton, and Angela Northern as they shopped at the book fair.  Moms enjoyed muffins and coffee/juice with their sons and/or daughters on Wednesday morning for Muffins for Mom and dads delighted in delicious donuts and milk with their children on Thursday morning during Donuts for Dad.  On Grand Parents Day grandparents ate lunch with their grandchildren and concluded their visit with a visit to the book fair.  The Library Jr. Crew (4th & 5th grade student workers) worked in the book fair daily.  There was nearly $10,000 worth of merchandise sold during the week.  MVES LMC was rewarded $1,000 worth of books to add to the library collection and $2,000 to spend on additional materials for the students and staff of the school.  Thank you to the MVES faculty, staff, cafeteria personnel and the many volunteers from the community who helped to make the book fair a tremendous success!
