Mt. Vernon Elementary received two classroom sets of laptops and one classroom set of iPads this fall. Here are just a few ways the new technology is being implemented at the school:
Sydney Woods reading an e-book on one of the school’s new iPads.
Mr. Bussell and Mr. Coffey welcome the preschool classes to the Library Media Center to learn numbers, letters, and more from apps on the iPads.
Students sign in to their My Quest (personal page) on Destiny Quest to recommend titles to friends and classmates.
Gifted and Talented use Edmodo during Literacy Block to share thoughts about the books they are reading with one another.
Students practice individualized sets of math skills using an app on the iPads that teachers can customize to individual students’ needs and then monitor the students’ progress.
