Preschoolers Learn About Thanksgiving

Gobble, Gobble! Ms. Hannah’s preschool class dressed up as turkeys before sharing Thanksgiving Dinner with family members on Wednesday, November 20.

Ms. Sheena’s preschool classes at Mt. Vernon Elementary have been learning about The First Thanksgiving Dinner. On Wednesday, November 20th the children got to dress up as pilgrims and Native Americans.


Mrs. Imogene’s preschool classes at Roundstone Elementary have been studying the first Thanksgiving. They have been learning how people long ago lived differently than they do today. Both classes made Native American necklaces and headbands that they decorated with Native American drawings. Students wore their headbands and necklaces when they performed the rhyme Five Fat Turkeys and a Thanksgiving song for the Parent Teacher Group Meeting on November 18th. They also wore their headbands and necklaces to Thanksgiving Feast on Wednesday.

Mrs. Courtney’s preschool classes at Mt. Vernon Elementary have been studying the first Thanksgiving and about the daily lives of pilgrims and Native Americans. Both classes dressed as pilgrims and Native Americans on Wednesday, Nov. 20 and feasted on Thanksgiving Dinner at school!
