RATC Ranked #1 among all Kentucky Area Technology Centers in ACT Work Keys Results

ACT’s National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) is a portable credential that demonstrates achievement and a certain level of workplace employability skills in Applied Mathematics, Locating Information, and Reading for Information.  Work Keys assessments measure “real world” skills that employers believe are critical to job success. Test questions are based on situations in the everyday work world.

Across the Commonwealth, 53 Area Technology Centers gave the ACT Work Keys Assessment enabling students to earn the National Career Readiness Certificate.  The Rockcastle Area Technology Center tested 69 students for the ACT Work Keys Assessment with a 94.2% pass rate, a .50% increase over their last year’s score of 93.7%.  Of the 69 students taking the assessment 75% earned a Silver Certificate and 19% earned a Gold Certificate.

  • Silver for a minimum level score of 4 on all three assessments.  Demonstrates the skill levels needed in 65% of today’s jobs.
  • Gold for a minimum level score of 5 on all three assessments.  Demonstrates skill levels needed in 90% of today’s jobs.
  • Platinum for a minimum level score of 6 on all three assessments.  Demonstrates the skill levels needed in 99% of today’s jobs.
