RATC Welding Students Represent Kentucky Career & Technical Education in Louisville

Rockcastle Area Technology Center students Koty Benge, Bryan King and Kayla Lovell were selected to represent all Kentucky and Indiana career and technical education welding programs. Twelve programs from across the two states came together to showcase projects, certifications, credentials, skills and leadership in the SkillsUSA program. They presented in front of The Louisville Mayor, National Skills USA CEO and business leaders of the greater Louisville Chamber of Commerce.  The program was held to create an awareness of the high skill level and academic accomplishment that CTE students attain through programs like the welders at RATC complete. The three students did an excellent job to inform the business leaders who were asked to participate in helping with the National Skills USA competitions that will be coming to Louisville in 2015. The three RATC Seniors were recruited by several companies to come to Louisville to start their careers. They were also able to see the Jeff Boat plant which is the largest inland ship builder in the USA.
