The RCHS Concert Band and Winterguard made their premiere performance at the 2019 Nashville Heritage Music Festival held at the Brentwood High Performing Arts Center in Brentwood, TN on Saturday. The group had the opportunity to compete with groups from Ohio, Texas, and as far away as California. The group performed tunes from their 2019 Spring Concert and were adjudicated by college band directors from across the nation. The Concert Band was awarded 2nd Place in Class 2A while the Winterguard received 1st place Silver rating in competition. Band students were treated to dinner, an awards ceremony , and a line dance party in downtown Nashville at the end of the festival. During their weekend in Nashville, the students also were able to take a tour of the Country Music Hall of Fame.
