The RCHS DanceBlue Club recently celebrated their “100 Day Countdown” until their mini-marathon on February 18th, 2017. Students at RCHS were greeted Thursday morning with blue & yellow balloons and large banners made by the RCHS DanceBlue Club to celebrate the 100 Day countdown. “This is an exciting time to be a member of DanceBlue at RCHS”, stated Mr. Aaron Rupard, RCHS DanceBlue Advisor. “We recently announced that we are implementing a DanceBlue chapter at RCMS and now we are officially on a countdown until we host our mini-marathon in February. The mini-marathon is our opportunity as a club to come together on one day to celebrate FTK (For The Kids).” RCHS DanceBlue Club raises money all year long to help raise awareness for childhood cancer and then donates all that money to the Golden Matrix Fund which works to help patients and families receiving services from the University of Kentucky DanceBlue Kentucky Children’s Hospital Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic. “We still have a lot of work to do before the mini-marathon, but I feel very confident that our students and community will come together to make this a special year. I have an awesome group of DanceBlue Committee members that work hard every week to find new creative ways of raising awareness and money for childhood cancer. Each of them have a heart to serve and love others”, says Mr. Rupard. RCHS DanceBlue mini-marathon will be held on February 18th, 2017 at RCMS gym from 12pm-10pm.
