RCHS Members Selected for WKU Honors Band

Congratulations to members of the RCHS Band who performed as part of the 2015 Western Kentucky University High School Honors Band Program.  These students were selected upon merit and auditioned for a spot against over 700 students from Kentucky, Tennessee, and Indiana for a spot in this prestigious music program.  The band members were in rehearsals for two days and gave a concert at Van Meter Auditorium on the campus of WKU this past Saturday.  Musicians were treated to the conducting skills of Dr. Mark Walker, Director of Bands at Troy University, Mr. Richardo Vargas, Director of the Cartago Concert Band in Cartago, Costa Rica, Mr. David Starnes of Western Carolina University, and Mr. Tom Stites, a Ketucky native and conductor of the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra.  Students were also given tickets to attend the 20th WKU Prism concert which features every ensemble within the music department.  RCHS Students pictured included Logan Anglin, Jessica Harris, Zach Hayes, and Shelby Brown with RCHS Director Greg Daugherty.
