RCMS Minds in the Middle Newsletter

We are encouraging our students to be a part of the first ever musical production at RCMS.  Auditions for the spring musical, “Seussical the Musical” will be Tuesday, February 9th after school.  See Ms. Hunt or Ms. Smith for an information sheet and permission form.

Congratulations to our recent kind kids of the week:  Ellie Robinson, Chance Gampher, Daniel Mason, Travis Durham, Dalton Pash, Jacklin Weaver, Katie Osborne and Joshua Wright.

We have had a donation of two bicycles to give away in a drawing from all students who have perfect attendance from now until the end of school.  Students keep your attendance in check and you could be a lucky winner.  It’s just one more reason to be at school every day!

The Archery Team is preparing for competition in the Region 10 Tournament on Saturday at the Center for Rural Development in Somerset.  The team will practice on Thursday and Friday afternoons from 5-7:00.

Continue to collect Box Tops for Education.  The end date for this collection period is February 24th.

The deadline for any 8th graders who are interested in applying for the Rogers Scholars summer program is February 15th.  See Mrs. Cromer or Mrs. Bullock for information or assistance.

Remember to order your yearbook.  The cost is $35.  Additional forms are available in the office if needed.

Spring pictures will be this Friday, February 5th.

There will be a Valentine’s Day dance on Friday, February 12th.  Tickets to the dance will be $3 each.  Profits will go to the 8th grade trip fund. We need parents of 8th grade students to donate items to sell for the dance.  Canned drinks, candy bars, and individual bags of chips would be greatly appreciated.

The 4-H sewing projects will be taking place in February and March.  Interested middle school students can stop by the Youth Services Center for more information.

ESS will resume this Thursday, February 5th.  There will be Art Club as well.  There is no choir practice or drama club this week.

The Unite Club sends a thank you to Operation Unite for sending t-shirts to each member.  Any Unite members who have not yet received their Unite t-shirt can see Mrs. Cromer in the office.

We wish the best to our school spelling bee winner, Aiden Cain, as he participates in the district spelling on Thursday.

There is no school on Presidents’ Day, February 15th.
