Two RCMS 7th graders were honored on May 22nd at WKU for their outstanding performance on the ACT. Corey Coleman and Jacob Houk took the ACT during the school year as part of the 7th grade Duke TIP gifted student identification program. In order to be honored at the State Recognition Ceremony, students’ scores had to meet or surpass the national benchmarks in an academic area set for all students, regardless of grade level: Eng-22, Math-22, Reading-23, and Science, 22. Houk was honored for his scores in Math and Science and Coleman qualified in all four academic areas. Both young men are members of the Middle School Academic Team, which just finished a historic season this year.
