RES Students Attend “A Kid’s Gala Concert”

By Natalie Alexander and Ms. Fairchild

Roundstone Elementary fourth grade students attended the 22nd annual “A Kid’s Gala Concert” in Somerset, Kentucky at The Center for Rural Development. The show was performed by the EKU Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Mr. Jeremy Mulholland and sponsored by McDonald’s. The very funny emcee for the program was the red-shoed clown himself, Ronald McDonald. The students learned all about the types of instruments that make up an orchestra and listened to a mix of musical styles from Classical to Rock-n-Roll. David Rutter, from Mr. Woodall’s class, conducted the orchestra. He reported, “I really liked it, and it was funny.” David really enjoyed being on the stage. gala

I (Natalie) will tell you what three people thought about the concert. One is Avery Bullock. She said, “The concert was pretty good, but Ronald was a little scary.” Another kid, Ethan Chandler thought the concert was, “Good!” The last person I am going to interview, Haley Riley. She thought the concert was really good!
