WHEN: Sunday, October 20, 2013, at 2 p.m.
WHERE: Roundstone Elementary. Event will start behind the gym.
WHAT: The event is a 4K cross country race or a 1 mile fun walk. The entire event will be on Roundstone property. The course is contained, and will not be on any road ways. We will be strictly on the grass. This will ensure the safety of all participants, especially the children. Medals will be given for the 4K ONLY. If you want to compete for a medal, you will need to sign up for the 4K. It is ok to run/walk the 4K. But with our limited resources and the lay out of our course, it will be to difficult to time at two different finish lines. We encourage all walkers to participate, because although it is fun to compete for medals, this race is more about our students and school.
WHO: Everyone, all ages, are invited to attend. The cost is $15 (preregistered by Friday, October 11th) $20 race day. Registration on race day will begin at 1 p.m. If you preregister you are guaranteed a t shirt. There is no guarantee for a shirt with race day registration. Supplies will be limited. ALL ROUNDSTONE STUDENTS run for free, but if the student wants a t shirt, will have to pay $10. If any friend or family member wants a t shirt, he/she must register for the race. Although Roundstone students run for free, each student MUST have a signed release form. Extra forms will be available at the school and with your student’s teacher. You can send your race forms/money to school with your student or turn in at the front office at Roundstone. Or mail to Roundstone Elementary, C/O ENPTG, 6701 N Wilderness Rd, Mt. Vernon, KY 40456. WHY: All money will be used for the school. We are trying to raise money to supply each classroom with a smart board, as well as more iPads and laptops.
SPONSORSHIP: We are looking for sponsors to help fund the race, so we start with no overhead and are strictly making profit. If a business donates $100 or more that will be Gold Sponsor status and will have business logo on back of race shirt, recognized on race day and in the local paper. Any business or individual who donates less than $100 will be Silver Sponsor status and will be recognized on race day as well as in the local paper. We would love to fill up the back of our shirts with Sponsors!
DEADLINE: We need to have sponsor information ASAP to get info to t shirt designer. The deadline for student shirt orders and race preregistration is Friday, October 11th.
CONCESSIONS: Concessions will be available at the race. Again all proceeds will go back to the school.
