MVES School News 4/17/2018

Girl Scouts meet each Wednesday after school.

After school tutoring ends on Tuesday, April 24.

SBDM Parent Election will be Wednesday, April 18.

Kindergarten performance is scheduled for Thursday, April 19 at 6:00.

Last day for Preschool is Thursday, April 26.

2018-2019 Preschool & Kindergarten Registration

There are two programs in Rockcastle County that offer free early childhood education services to qualifying four year old children. (Three year old children may be eligible with an identified disability.) The programs are: The Rockcastle County Public Preschool and Kentucky River Foothills Head Start.

Kindergartner’s Draw Pictures for Hospital Patients

Part of Mt. Vernon Elementary School Kindergarten’s Read Across America week activities was a Random Act of Kindness Day. For their RAK, Ms. Hannah and Ms. Cloia’s kindergarten classes drew pictures for patients at Rockcastle Regional Hospital.

MVES Kindergarten Celebrates the 100th Day of School

The 100th day of school was January 30th.  Mrs. Kami’s kindergarten class at Mt. Vernon Elementary School celebrated by dressing up like they were 100 years old.

Kindergartners Pair-up with 5th Graders

Miss Kami and Ms. Lisa’s kindergarten students at Mt. Vernon Elementary sang Christmas Carols to their 5th grade helpers in Mr. Coffey’s class and also worked with them reading stories after.
