GEAR UP Brings RCMS Students to UK’s ‘E-Day’

Laura Beth Saylor Selected as Children’s Book Illustrator

RCMS 8th grader Laura Beth Saylor recently became an illustrator for the children’s book “If You’re From the Mountains” by Cassity Riffe McCool-Solis.  Laura Beth submitted an application and her drawing to the author and her drawing was selected for one of the pages in the book.  Way to go Laura Beth!

8th Graders Construct Mini Wooden Sheds


Over the past couple of weeks, students in Mr. Williams’ 8th grade Green Architecture class at RCMS have been working in teams to construct a wooden shed using a 3/4″=1′ scale.  While completing this project students were required to interpret architectural plans and apply building construction concepts.

Builders Club Accepts Veterans Day Program Donation

Veterans Day 2018

Rockcastle County Middle School Builders Club was honored to accept a $100 donation from the local Kiwanis Club.  The donation will be used to off-set the cost of the annual RCMS Veterans Day program that will be held on November 9, 2018.
