Mt. Vernon Message 3/10/2020

Girl Scouts meet every Thursday.

After school tutoring will be each Thursday from 3:15 until 4:30.

Our Spring Book Fair will be March 23-27th.  Our Family Event Night will be during Parent Teacher Conferences on March 26th, 4-6:00 PM.

Fox in Socks at MVES

Mrs. Charon Burton’s class at MVES read “Fox in Socks” and completed extension activities as part of Read Across America week. Students were also encouraged to wear their crazy socks to go along with the book. MVES Academic Team District Champs

2020 MVES Academic Team

The Mt. Vernon Elementary School Academic Team  placed first overall in the recent district tournament.  Winning the district quick recall competition and the Hume Sportsmanship Award, they will be advancing to the regional tournament on February 29th.

Mrs. Kami’s Class Celebrates 100th and 101st Days of School

On the 100th day of school, Mrs. Kami and Ms. Lisa’s kindergarten class at MVES dressed as though they were 100 years old.  On the 101st day of school, they dressed as 101 Dalmatians.

Mt. Vernon Message 1/15/2020

Archery practice will be every Wednesday from 3:15 until 5:00.

Academic Team practices each Tuesday from 3:15 until 4:15.

Girl Scouts meet every Thursday.

Report Cards will be sent home Thursday, January 16.

No School on Monday, January 20 in observance of Martin Luther King Day.

FRC Council meeting on Tuesday, January 21 at 12:00.

MVES Christmas Community Service Project

Cloia Collin's Class

Ms. Cloia Collins’ class at Mt. Vernon Elementary School did a community service project for Christmas.  The students brought in food for the snack pack program at MVES.   This project taught the concepts of wants vs. needs and promoted the thought that it truly is better to give than to receive.
