New Year’s Rocket Blast Off for Veterans

Annual RCMS Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest

RCMS held their annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest on December 19th.  The competition was great and, after much debate, the winners were Cannon Jones, Emma Phillips and Allison McCoy.

RCMS Students Donate Toys

Toy Donations

RCMS students donated over a hundred toys for the Rockcastle Detention Center to distribute to children who have parents that are incarcerated.  Thanks to all of the students who donated and to the Builders Club for heading up the collection.  Gary Ramsey, Drew Hopkins, and Bryson Atkin helped load the toys.

RCMS Students Win Bicycles for Perfect Attendance

8th Graders Selected for GEMS Conference


Six RCMS 8th graders were selected to participate in the Girls Exploring Math and Science Conference at Somerset Community College with other girls from around the region.  GEMS is for eighth grade girls who have an interest in possible careers in math, science, engineering, information technology, or health sciences.

Ramsey Excels with KY Middle School All-Star Team

TJ Ramsey

Congratulations to RCMS 8th grader TJ Ramsey who made the Kentucky Middle School All-Star Team.  He played strong safety for the white team on Sunday at Kentucky State University Alumni Field.  His team won 37-7.

RCMS Leadership Team Raises Money for Veterans Park

Veterans Park Donation

Rockcastle County Middle School Leadership Team Members Kylie Martin and Molly Craig presented Kathy Bobo a check for $225 toward the American Legion’s efforts to create a Veterans Park in Rockcastle County.  RCMS students brought in their spare change on Veterans Day to make the donation.
