Rockcastle County Middle School Bill Authors Gentry Phillips, Kyle Coffey and Camden Mink presented their Bill to the Senate, the House and the Governor and it passed all three leading up to an Outstanding Premier Bill award.

Dotson Wins Cross-Country State Championship

STATE CHAMPION!!!! RCMS 7th grader Tori Dotson won the KTCCCA Middle School Cross-Country State Championship at Masterson Station Park in Lexington on Saturday. Tori ran a 15:23 for 2.4 miles and finished 13 seconds ahead of the nearest competitor. “Two Pigs, A Wolf, and a Mud Pie”

RCMS students in Visual and Performing Arts BRAVO performed “Two Pigs, A Wolf, and a Mud Pie” on Friday, October 10th for kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade students at the county elementary schools. The students enjoyed portraying fairy tale characters through song, visual art, and dance, as well as drama.

RCMS Middle School UNITE Club of the Year

Congratulations to the RCMS Unite Club.  The club won the Middle School Unite Club of the Year for the 5th year in a row.  The newly elected Unite Club officers received the award on Tuesday from Congressman Hal Rogers.  The club officers are Secretary Kylee Fain, Treasurer Ashlyn Brock, Historian Autumn Courtney and President Cole Ballinger.

Historical Figures Visit Local Schools

Napoleon Bonaparte (Jackson Cromer) and Clara Barton (Joy Frith) visited the RCMS 8th grade Challengers Team on April 3rd, where they shared information about these historic figures with their peers. The students then traveled to Roundstone Elementary where they shared their speeches with the 5th graders.
