Unity Day is Wednesday, October 24. We are uniting to combat bullying. Wear orange.
Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, October 25 from 4 until 6.
Friday, October 26 is Red Ribbon Friday. The theme for the day is Be a Super Hero. Don’t Do Drugs.” Wear your favorite super hero costume.
MVES Academic Team has a meet on Monday, October 29 from 3:15 until 4:45.
We will have a storybook character parade at school on Wednesday, October 31. Students are encouraged to dress as their favorite storybook character that day.
Picture retakes are scheduled for Friday, November 1.
Our annual Kenna’s Kitchen food drive will be the week of October 29-November 2.
The donation schedule is as follows:
- Monday, October 29: Corn
- Tuesday, October 30: Green Beans
- Wednesday, October 31: Peas
- Thursday, November 1: Instant Potatoes
- Friday, November 2: Stuffing

The Rockcastle County Solid Waste and Recycling Center recently held a contest for 4th graders to design pictures for a calendar to be distributed throughout the county. The 5th Grade Gifted and Talented Language Art class traveled to Tic-Toc Preschool to perform the book character monologues that they wrote.
