Who Will Carve the Turkey This Thanksgiving?

Mrs. Kathy’s 1st Grade class at Mt. Vernon Elementary has enjoyed reading Who Will Carve the Turkey This Thanksgiving? as a part of their study of animals and celebration of Thanksgiving.  The students were challenged to write their own ending for the story.

Mrs. Kathy’s 1st Grade Class:

Kooper – A cat could carve the turkey, but it would just scratch it all to pieces.  My mom or my grandpa will carve our turkey for Thanksgiving.

Angileigha – A horse could carve the turkey but it might smash it and get it all over us.  My mommy will carve our turkey this year.

Layla – A cat could carve the turkey, but it would tear it to pieces and I would have to eat pumpkin pie.  My dad will carve my turkey this year.

Madison – A dinosaur could carve the turkey, but it would tip over all the food.  I guess my papaw will carve our turkey this year.

Dawsynn – My mamaw’s cat could carve the turkey, but he would destroy it and jump on top of it.  My dad will have to carve our turkey.

Marcas – A jaguar could carve the turkey, but it would slice it to pieces and tear up our house.  My mom will carve our Thanksgiving turkey.

Carabella – A lion could carve the turkey, but it will just slice it into tiny pieces and destroy my house and my neighborhood.  My mom or dad will probably carve our turkey.

Makenna – A dog could carve the turkey, but he would eat it and pull out our hair.  I guess my mom or dad will have to carve our turkey.

Landon – A bull could carve the turkey, but it would probably get stuck on its horns and it would take it away.  My mom and dad will have to carve our turkey – just like always.

Ryli – A zebra could carve the turkey, but it would make our turkey black and white so I wouldn’t eat it.  My dad will have to carve our turkey this Thanksgiving.

Charlie – My dog could carve the turkey, but he would mess it up and drag it around the house. My mamaw will have to carve our turkey.

Oliver – A shark could carve the turkey, but he would eat it and I would have to eat chicken.  My grandma will carve my turkey this Thanksgiving.

Katie – A dragon could carve the turkey, but he would burn it up and smash my house.  My mamaw will carve my turkey for Thanksgiving.

Aubrey – A tiger could carve the turkey, but it would probably scratch it all up.  My mom will carve my turkey.

Charles – A monkey could carve the turkey, but he would eat a banana instead.  My mom and dad will carve my turkey.

Bryson – A werewolf could carve the turkey, but it would probably use its teeth and suck all the juice out so my turkey would be dry.  Maybe my Nana will carve our turkey.

Parker – A monkey could carve the turkey, but it would splash it all over the walls.  My mom will carve our turkey – just like always.

Matthew – A whale could carve the turkey but he would eat it and all of his friends will come too.  My mommy will carve my turkey this Thanksgiving.

Easton – A dragon could carve the turkey, but it could burn the turkey and burn the house down.  My mom and dad will carve our turkey.

Haylee – A chicken could carve the turkey but, it would peck the turkey to pieces and I would have feathers in my food.  My mom will carve our turkey this Thanksgiving.
