MVES E-Discovery Market Day

Last Thursday, second grade students at MVES celebrated E-Discovery Market Day.  Students learned about entrepreneurship and business.  They made items to sell.  The day was a huge success!  Thank you to all who supported our students.

Michaela Hunter Signs with EKU

Rockcastle County High School Senior Michaela Hunter signed a National Letter of Intent to play women’s basketball at Eastern Kentucky University.  Congratulations Michaela!

RCMS Basketball Potluck

Where: RCMS Cafeteria When: April 28th, 2013 Time: 1:30pm What to bring:   6th grade parents—Side dish, 7th grade parents—Main Dish/Side Dish, 8th grade parents—Main Dish/Dessert.   We will provide pop and water. What the players need to bring: School issued uniforms…..not Adidas uniforms those are the players to keep.

Save-A-Lot to Honor Past and Present School Employees

On May 11th, Save-A-Lot of Mt. Vernon will honor ALL past and present employees of Rockcastle County Schools.  This will include teachers, bus drivers, cooks, coaches, janitors, etc.  Students are encouraged to get involved in honoring their mentors in the school system.

Students Excel at SkillsUSA State Leadership Conference

On April 3rd, Curtis Miller represented Rockcastle SkillsUSA at the State Leadership Conference in Louisville.  Curtis competed in Job Demo A demonstrating the procedure for using an oxy-acetelyne torch and placed 1st in the state. Rockcastle ATC appreciates the work and dedication demonstrated by Curtis.

RCMS PTSA Fundraiser

Jordan Nicely, Andrew McKinney, Cameron Cornelius, and Lea Ellen Rogers were the top four sellers for the RCMS PTSA fundraiser.  Jordan was awarded a pair of Dr. Dre beats as the top salesperson with $770.00 in sales.  Andrew, Cameron, and Lea Ellen each sold over $500 worth of merchandise and won a $50.00 gift card. … Continue Reading RCMS PTSA Fundraiser

Motivational Scholar Summit at Berea College

A group of RCMS 8th grade students participated in  a motivational scholar summit at Berea College.  The students learned new ways of looking at situations.  They focused on how to have a vision and things they needed to do to achieve their vision.  The students also participated in an etiquette luncheon at Boone Tavern.
