Anyone that attended the Head Start funded Preschool Enrollment Kick-off this past Thursday would probably agree that it was a success. All three schools came together at the MVES playground and invited preschool aged children and their families to come enjoy the school playground structures, inflatables and a free meal. Each family was given a bag including enrollment information and a hard back book to read with their child. The Rockcastle County Adult Education Center and Rockcastle College Readiness Center were both there to offer information to parents needing to obtain their GED or prepare for college. They also held a drawing for a gas card. Nurses from the health department were in attendance with helpful information and to answer any questions parents may have. Mrs. Willametta French brought her school bus for the to children climb aboard and see. She went over school bus rules and safety precautions with the children and their parents. Mrs. Tammy Camel brought students from the high school’s FCCLA to help with supervision. The students were very helpful and interactive with the children. The Rockcastle County Preschool Staff would like to thank everyone that attended or volunteered their time to make this event possible.
