The Rockcastle County FBLA Chapter traveled to the Kentucky State FBLA Conference this past week, April 14th-16th. Fourteen members traveled to Louisville, Kentucky to further our chapter. Ten members competed and five of those came home with trophies.
Brittany Carpenter and Ashley Fletcher placed 5th in Business Plan. Alexis King placed 4th in Health Care Administration. Ashley McCoy and Gabby Miller placed 1st in Web Design. Ashley and Gabby will continue to nationals which will be held in June. This will take place in Nashville, Tennessee.
Along with these winners, there were several others who also competed. Brad Taylor competed in Public Speaking I. Austin Brown competed in Business Math. Cassidy Daughtery competed in Business Presentation. Dana Robbins and Deanna Alexander competed in E-business.
There were also other members which attended this conference this past week. Hannah Hicks and Layne Jasper were state voting delegates. Hannah McClure and Meghin Helton also attended the conference.
Every member had the opportunity to take part in several workshops. Some of which included, the general assembly which involved opening ceremonies, “How to become the most popular, amazing, and well-liked person you know”, and “Interviewing for a successful career”. These workshops will greatly help these members succeed in the near future as their careers will launch soon!
Along with workshops, member were able to experience a little bit of Louisville itself. For example, members had a dining experience at the Historic Old Spaghetti Factory. FBLA members were able to see life in a big city setting versus a small town.
The Rockcastle County FBLA Chapter won big this week due to the hard work, determination, and perseverance each and every member demonstrated this week and weeks prior! Congratulations to all the members who competed and keep up the great work!
