On April 22-25th, twelve Rockcastle ATC students and advisor, Sherman Cook attended the Kentucky State SkillsUSA conference in Louisville. They competed in various leadership and skill competitions. Hailey Harper, a KY state officer attended a few days prior to assist in preparing for the conference. Members attending from left to right are as follows: Josh Greenwell (Welding 1), Zach Hayes (Tool I.D.), Bradley Wilson (Auto Service 1), Hailey Harper (State Officer), Marcus Wilson (Industrial Motor Control), Austin Spoonamore and Isaiah Scarborough (Group Talent), Alexis Lovell (Welding Sculpture), Christian Sagraves (Action Skills), Faith Saylor (Related Technical Math), Curtis Miller (Job Demo A), Rebekah Renner (Poster Design) and Welding instructor, Sherman Cook. Accomplishments achieved by the Rockcastle Co. club at state conference are as follows: Hailey Harper was re-elected as state officer for the 2015-2016 year; Marcus Wilson 3rd place; Austin Spoonamore and Isaiah Scarborough 3rd place; Alexis Lovell 3rd place; Christian Sagraves 1st place; Curtis Miller 1st place; and Rebekah Renner 1st place. All 12 students also worked hard to achieve their Kentucky Statesman Award. Curtis Miller and Christian Sagraves will have the opportunity to attend the National Skills USA Conference in Louisville in June. Congratulations to these students on their accomplishments.
