Announcements 9/24/2013

• No permit test on October 4th due to the Bittersweet Festival. The driver’s test will still be given.

• The blood drive is Friday, September 27th.

• Juniors: If you are interested in applying for the Central Kentucky Council on Youth Leadership “Youth Salute”, you can get application information in the guidance office. In order to be eligible, you must have at least a 3.0 G.P.A. and have held Two Leadership Roles to which you were chosen by your peers or adult leader within the past two years in school, religious, or community sponsored organizations. Applications are due by October 1st.

• Order forms and money for pictures are due back to the office by Friday, September 27th. Make-up pictures for underclassmen and seniors will be October 7th.

• All Committee Chairs for DanceBlue Club must attend a meeting in Ms. Anderson’s room after school on Thursday. Please arrive as close to 3:10 as possible so that we can get the meeting started quickly.

• KYA delegates: If you did not attend the meeting on club day you need to see Mrs. Robinson as soon as possible. Financial aid forms for KYA are due before September 27th.

• See you at the pole will be tomorrow at 7:00am in front of the flag pole. In the event of rain we will meet in the gym. See you after the pole will be at Northside Baptist Church at 7:00pm. Pizza will be served at 6:30. Everyone is welcome to attend.

• There will be a Future Teacher Club meeting today until 5:00 in Mr. Brock’s room.

• Any Teenage Republicans who are interested in attending the Chicken Festival Saturday the 28th to help campaign for Mitch McConnell should contact Jacob Taylor sometime for more information. There will also be a sign-up sheet on Mr. Reppert’s door.

• HOSA Committee Chairperson Applications are now available in Mrs. Childress’ room. They are due back Friday the 26th.

• Toilet paper drive: The person who brings the most toilet paper will receive a $100 gift card and there will a drawing for two $50 gift cards for the 1st period with the most toilet paper by October 24th.

• National Honor Society and Beta Club members. If you are interested in running for an officer position, please stop by Mrs. Adams’ room (117) between classes to pick up an application. Applications are due back to Mrs. Adams by the end of the day on Friday. Interview dates will be announced after that.

• We will be holding a College Information Night tonight at 6:30pm in the auditorium. All students are invited as well as their guardians. Seniors in particular are encouraged to attend. A representative from the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority will be here to discuss financial aid.

• Athletes wanting a letterman’s jacket, representative from Lowes Sporting Goods will be here tomorrow at 2:00 to take orders and size junior and seniors who have lettered in a sport, groups, etc. Those athletes must first get a letterman’s jacket sheet from you and have you, the head coaches, fill out on the form how many years they have lettered. Those ordering jackets will need to have a deposit of $100 if they choose to order a jacket with vinyl sleeves, and $150 if they choose to order a jacket with leather sleeves. Checks will need to be made payable to Lowes Sporting Goods, not to RCHS. It takes approximately 10 weeks for the jackets to arrive.
