Members of the RCHS Archery Team competing at the National NASP Tournament at the Kentucky State Fairgrounds were: (Front): Rachel Chadwell, Faith Saylor, Callie Carpenter, Amelia Berryman, Megan Taylor, Alyssa Bustle, and Erika Howard. (Middle): Megan Hampton, B.J. Wynn, Anna Poynter, Ethan Thompson, Jackson Cromer, Sam Brickley, and Assistant Coach Janetta Begley. (Back): Nicholas Ford, Jacob Collins, Dustin Gentry, Tristan Begley, Joseph Cowan, Tyler Owens and Coach John Chadwell.
The RCHS Rocket Archers were unable to repeat their awesome performance at the Kentucky State Tournament dropping their team score to a 3141 at the National NASP Tournament in Louisville on May 8th.
However, ending on a positive note in their last tourney for RCHS were the seniors Tyler Owens and Anna Poynter. Tyler improved his season high by seven points to earn a 274 and lead the Rockets in scoring. Tyler hit the bullseye 13 times. Anna was second for the team with her season best as well scoring 268.
Sophomore Alyssa Bustle was third for the Rockets with a score of 268, followed by Rachel Chadwell and Jacob Collins who each scored 265. Jackson Cromer followed closely with a score of 264. Jackson, Rachel, and Anna each landed the bullseye 10 times.
Rounding out the top 12 and contributing to the team score were Amelia Berryman with her season best of 263, Erika Howard with 260, B.J. Wynn 259, Tristan Begley tying his best of the year with 255, Joseph Cowan 254, and Megan Hampton with 246.
Other shooters for the Rockets at the tournament were Dustin Gentry, Nicholas Ford, Sam Brickley, Faith Saylor, Ethan Thompson, Callie Carpenter and Megan Taylor.
