Scholarship Updates

BAF Scholarship: BAF is offering a $5000 scholarship plus a $5000 internship the summer after graduation to a high school senior. Applicants must have a 3.7 GPA, a minimum ACT score of 27, and must be planning to attend a 4 year college or university. Kentucky Farm Bureau Education Foundation Scholarship: KFB will award 87 county and state scholarships to high school seniors for the current school year. Scholarships may be applied to tuition, housing, books, and other educational expenses. Payments will be made directly to the college or university. Applicants must have a minimum 3.5 GPA or a minimum 23 ACT score, and be the child of a Kentucky Farm Bureau member. Applications may be downloaded at https://www.kyfb.com/federation/scholarships/ or picked up in the guidance office. Deadline is February 28, 2017.

Lindsey Wilson College Southeastern Kentucky Partnership Scholarship: LWC will offer a full tuition, room and board scholarship to three students who are within a 16 county area. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 and minimum ACT of 18, and must be Pell Grant eligible. There is also a 1-2 page essay required. Students who apply but are not selected will receive an additional $1000 for competing. Information is in the guidance office. Deadline for submission is April 1, 2017.

Kentucky Federation of Republican Women Scholarship: One scholarship in the amount of $1000 will be awarded to a senior girl who has been politically active within the Republican Party. The qualified applicant must submit a one page typed essay about a Republican woman you admire or who has influenced your life and why. Information is in the guidance office. Deadline for submission is April 1, 2017.

Rockcastle Community Scholarships: The community has several scholarships, ranging from $500 to $2000, which are available to RCHS seniors. Applicants must write a 300 word essay concerning education and career goals. The application is available in the guidance office; deadline for submission is April 21, 2017.

Cruisin’ in the Valley Scholarship: One $1000 scholarship will be awarded to a senior who plans on attending a college or technical school in the fall of 2017. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required. Applications are in the guidance office. Deadline to submit applications is April 21st.
