Horatio Alger Association Scholarship: The Horatio Alger Association seeks to assist students who have demonstrated integrity, perseverance in overcoming adversity, strength of character, financial need, a good academic record, commitment to pursue a college education, and a desire to contribute to society. Scholarships in the amount up to $25,000 are available for students who meet eligibility requirements and who have their online application completed by October 25, 2018. Kentucky Federation of Republican Women Scholarship: The Kentucky Federation of Republican women grants a $1,500 scholarship to a college-bound high school senior girt who has been politically active within the Republican Party. Applicants must also be a registered Republican and plan to enroll at an accredited Kentucky college or university. The completed application will include the application form, a one page typed essay, transcript, and two letters of recommendation. Pick up applications in the guidance office; deadline for submission is April 1, 2019.
Morehead State University George M. Luckey, Jr. Honors Program Scholarship: Morehead offers this competitive scholarship opportunity for seniors interested in the honors program. The scholarship covers tuition, on-campus housing cost up to a four person suite, and $5000 for all other expenses. Other benefits include participation in the Academic Honors Program, residence in the Honors Learning Community, an undergraduate research fellowship with a faculty mentor, opportunities for community service, priority registration, and up to $1500 in funds to be used for a required overseas experience. Morehead State University Scholarships: There are many scholarships that MSU offers which vary in award depending upon your GPA and ACT score. Northern Kentucky University: Students who achieve a 2.5 weighted GPA and a 21 ACT or 1060 SAT or greater are considered for academic scholarships. The university offers numerous scholarship levels from $500 to full tuition/housing. Students must be admitted and have a complete file by February 15, 2019 to be eligible. Western Kentucky University Cherry Presidential Scholarship: Students with a minimum 3.8 GPA and a minimum 31 ACT qualify to compete for WKU’s most prestigious scholarship, the Cherry Presidential.
