For the first time in school history for either team, both the RCHS JV and Varsity Academic Teams won the Lake Cumberland Academic League Championships. The league, which is comprised of all the private and public high schools in Laurel, Knox, Pulaski, Madison, Lincoln, Garrard, Boyle, and Rockcastle counties, was established in 1988 and has never seen an RCHS championship before. Both Rockcastle teams went 9-0 in season play and 4-0 in the league championship tournament to finish the season and postseason with undefeated records. The JV team was led by JV co-captains, Audrey Childress and Hayden Robinson while the varsity team was led by varsity quick recall and overall team captain, Katie Vance.
All students in the league also competed in individual written assessment with the following RCHS students earning placements in their respective subject. In Language Arts, Audrey Childress placed second and Tessa Pickle placed first, in Arts and Humanities, Leann Tankersly and Tarrylton Dunn tied for sixth and Aden Amburgey placed second, in Social Studies, Katie Vance placed second, and, in Science, Jonathan Cain and Hayden Robinson tied for fifth and Elizabeth Mikeworth placed first.
