RCHS Musician Performs in KMEA All-State Choir

RCHS Senior Tarrylton Dunn recently took part in the state’s highest honor for choir students, the 2020 Kentucky Music Educator’s Association All-State TTBB Choir.  Tarrylton, along with several top young singers from across the state, spent 3 days of intensive rehearsal in Louisville in preparation for a concert given at the Kentucky Center for the Arts on Friday February 7th.   This year’s TTBB Men’s Choir was under the direction of Dr. Stephen Caldwell, Associate Director of Choral Activities and Department Chair at the University of Arkansas.  Dr. Caldwell is a highly sought after conductor and adjudicator as well as being an accomplished composer and arranger.  Selection for the All-State Choir Program is an intensive audition process involving both prepared and sight-singing excerpts and representing Rockcastle county at this level is truly an honor for Tarrylton.  Tarrylton plans to pursue music education in the fall and also serves as the current Drum Major for the Marching Rockets.  Tarrylton is pictured with Dr. Stephen Caldwell during All-State Choir rehearsals.
