Minds in the Middle

The Leadership Team had a Bake Sale and Cakewalk during Parent Teacher Conferences and raised $295.00 to help prevent birth defects.  Thanks to all who participated and to all of the wonderful staff and parents who donated food items.

Congratulations to the four 8th graders who were selected for the Rogers Explorers Summer Program.  Jackson Cromer, Carlee Cash, Maggie Franklin and Rebekah Lake were selected after a difficult and lengthy application process.

Congratulations as well to the 7th graders who qualified for state recognition as part of the Duke University Talent Identification Program:  Zoe Burdette, Evan Hendrickson, Benton Kuntz, Cole Ballinger and Shelby French.

Thanks to the RCMS Unite Club for collecting for the Rockcastle Community Soup Kitchen.  $70 was raised for them to purchase food.

Congratulations to Mrs. Wolfe’s 7th grade homeroom on winning the attendance race last week.  Mrs. Little’s 6th grade Enterprisers came in second place followed by Mrs. Tracy’s 6th grade Voyagers close behind in third.

If you haven’t yet purchased a yearbook, you can still do so.  The cost is $35.

Remember that we do have ESS available on Tuesdays and Thursdays for any students who need help with their assignments.  Transportation is available.  Choir students need to stay every Tuesday for rehearsals.

The Scholastic Book Fair will be in the media center on April 11-21.

We are currently having a Box Tops race.  This race will end on April 30th.  Congratulations to the Voyagers team on bringing in the most Box Tops last month.  There was a good effort as well, from the 2nd place Enterprisers team.
