Y-Club members who are planning to go to the Kentucky Youth Assembly need to turn in the remainder of their fees to Mrs. Cromer as soon as possible.
The Lady Rockets will be selling “Rock” Basketball t-shirts this week during break. The cost is $10.
Thanks to the RCMS Unite Club for heading up the annual toilet paper drive. The toilet paper collected will be sent to local drug rehab facilities. RCMS collected 743 rolls of toilet paper.
In keeping with our caring attitude, the Leadership Team will be selling Boo Grams next week. For 50 cents, students can send a fun size package of M&M’s to their friends. The candy will be delivered on Halloween. Proceeds will benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
This Friday will kick off Red Ribbon Week at RCMS. It will be Red Day in the county in support of living a drug free life. Monday is “Team Up Against Drugs” day at RCMS and students should wear their favorite team shirts. On Tuesday, we will show that “Drugs Don’t Make Cents” and bring in all of our spare change for Pennies for Patients to help treat blood cancers. “Our Future is Bright” so we will wear bright colors on Wednesday. On Thursday, students should dress alike because “Friends Don’t Let Friends Do Drugs.”
Congratulations to Mrs. Little’s 6th grade Enterprisers homeroom on winning the attendance race last week. 6th grade Voyagers took the 2nd and 3rd place spots with Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Tracy.
We now have ESS on Thursdays. Students who need some extra help with their assignments can stay after school until 4:45. Transportation is provided.
We now have drug testing kits free to all parents. The test is a saliva test and is very easy to give. This is a great resources for parents who have suspicions that their child may be using drugs. The kits are sponsored by Unite and can be picked up in our Youth Services Center.
There is no school for students on November 3rd and 4th. Make plans now to enjoy some extra family time together!
