Hello, Roundstone students! I miss each and every one of you and hope you are continuing to read during these days away from school. Please let me know how I can help you with getting hooked up with a good book to read. You can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I also have created an RES Library Facebook page that I would love for you to join if either you or your parents are a member of Facebook. If you are limited on technology at your home, I can also arrange other opportunities that will allow you to be able to read.
I’m so sorry that we didn’t get to have our annual KBA voting parties this year, but we are bringing the voting sheet to you! I know you do not have your rating sheets to refresh your memory on each book that was either read to you or that you read on your own, but please look over each cover & title and decide which book you would like to vote for in the K-2 category (remember, even 3rd-5th graders can vote in this category)!
Now for those 3rd-5th graders that listened to the read-alouds for Pass Go and Collect $200: The Real Story of how Monopoly was Invented and Saving Winslow PLUS read one other book from this category and filled out a blue reading response sheet, you may also vote in the 3-5 category!
Please have all your voting submitted by Wednesday, April 29!
Note to Parents:
The Kentucky Bluegrass Award is our statewide student-choice reading program.
Every year the students at Roundstone Elementary participate in the K-2 picture book program. The students are read-aloud the books in Kindergarten through 2nd grade and rate each book whether it was great, good, or okay. The third through fifth grade students read the books on their own and rate the books great, good, or okay and write a description of why they liked the book or didn’t like the book. Even though students do not have their rating sheets to remember how they liked each book, I would still like for them to vote and be a part of this student-choice reading program. If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me at the above e-mail address.
