Rockcastle County Schools has a proud tradition of excellence in education and a genuine desire to help the students and families in our community.  Serving an enrollment of 2,836 students in preschool through 12th grade, our teachers, administrators and staff in each school, and throughout our district, provide consistent and caring support to all students to guarantee every opportunity for their success. Our first priority is to ensure the safety of our students and staff.  Next, we work to meet the mental, physical and social needs of each student, combined with the delivery of a world-class instructional program in beautiful, state-of-the-art facilities.

Rockcastle County has three elementary schools, one middle and one high school, one Area Technology Center and one Academy for Academic Achievement. Every school in our district is staffed with highly qualified teachers who strive to provide individualized instruction for their students by determining individual learning needs and developing strategies to address those needs so that each student has an opportunity to learn.

We also understand the importance of having the support of the families and community we serve.  Each school is governed by their own School Based Decision-Making Council, operated in cooperation with teachers, parents and administrators.  This council works to identify needs within their school and formulate policies and decisions in order to ensure improvement at every level. In addition, our elementary schools provide numerous opportunities for members of their Parent-Teacher Organizations, along with a variety of parent booster groups across the district, to help and support our students.  Consistent, clear communication of our goals and plans is also vital to our district’s success.
