RCHS

Rockcastle County High School proudly hosted a Reverse Career Fair today, an innovative event organized by the Perkins Innovation and Modernization (PIM) Grant team. Unlike a traditional career fair, this event spotlighted junior and senior students as presenters, allowing them to showcase their individual Portrait of a Rocket—highlighting their high school experiences, personal growth, and future goals.

Students engaged in meaningful, one-on-one conversations with local business leaders, community members, and school staff, who evaluated each presentation and offered valuable feedback. These interactions gave students a unique opportunity to demonstrate their readiness for life after high school—whether in college or the workforce.

The event also featured a traditional career fair component for all RCHS students and included a special treat: a German-inspired meal prepared and served by the talented RCHS Culinary Program for all local vendors and participants.

Special thanks to Citizens Bank for sponsoring the event and awarding scholarships to the top-scoring student presenters:

  • Senior Division:
    🥇 1st Place: Kaylee Johnson – $500 Scholarship
    🥈 2nd Place: William Miller – $250 Scholarship

  • Junior Division:
    🥇 1st Place: Dalton Deborde – $500 Scholarship
    🥈 2nd Place: Kaitlyn Carter – $250 Scholarship

Congratulations to these outstanding students and to everyone who shared their Portrait of a Rocket. This event exemplifies how RCHS continues to connect students with real-world experiences and prepare them for success beyond graduation.
