On Agriculture Literacy Day, Rockcastle County High School came alive with excitement and learning as agriculture students took the lead in educating the next generation. Kindergarten and 1st grade students from local elementary schools visited the high school for a hands-on experience they won’t soon forget.
Led by Rockcastle’s passionate ag students, the young visitors rotated through a variety of interactive stations, each designed to highlight a different aspect of modern agriculture. In the school’s greenhouse, students explored how plants grow and what it takes to care for them. At the tractor safety station, they learned how farmers use heavy equipment responsibly. The drone demonstration gave students a glimpse into how technology is changing the way we farm, while the livestock station introduced them to the animals that play such an important role in agriculture.
This event not only helped spark curiosity and understanding in the elementary students but also gave the high school ag students a chance to shine as leaders and educators. Agriculture Literacy Day at Rockcastle County High School was a true celebration of learning, leadership, and the strong future of agriculture in our community.
