They were asked to explain and describe specific challenges children faced, how the children felt about the work they were doing, and how the children felt about school compared to work. In addition to analyzing data charts and tables about child labor over time, learners also engaged with a song connected to the life of a child worker during the Industrial Revolution, historical images, and other primary resources.
Students were excited about this blended learning activity!

Students on the Principal's List earned a 4.0 or higher for the first semester. Honor Roll students earned between a 3.5 and 3.9.

This is a reminder about Family Scheduling Night at RCHS!
Families of grades 8–11 students are invited to join us this evening (Wednesday) at 6:00 to learn everything you need to know about planning for the future!
We’ll walk through the scheduling process and important opportunities for students, including:

✅Dual credit
✅ Work-based learning
✅ SAT and ACT
✅ Governor's Scholars , Governor's School for the Arts, and other summer programs

*Students needing to fulfill the Graduated Driver Licensing requirement can take a class at RCHS on Tuesday, February 10 from 4:00 to 8:00. To register for the free class go to www.kentuckysafedriver.com and click the Graduated Driver Licensing link. You can also register by calling 502-699-2295.
Rocket Refuel details--Families can pick up two days' worth of breakfast and lunch meal kits tomorrow at all school locations. Drive -through pick-up will be available from 11:30-1:30. Due to icy conditions, please remain in your vehicle.

Please note the following announcements:
*Because online dual credit courses do not follow RCHS's schedule it can be very easy to get behind on snow days or NTI days. Please make sure you have been completing your assignments and communicating with your instructors as needed. Be prepared for a grade check when we return to school.
*If you are signed up to take the PSAT 8/9, check your email for a message from Ms. Susan about the exam and paying the test fee. If you do not receive the email but plan on testing, email Ms. Susan at Susan.norton@rockcastle.kyschools.us right away.
*Seniors, several scholarship applications are open. Make sure to visit the Senior Hub and take a look.
*Registration is open for the SAT to be administered on Saturday, March 14. Registration is also open for the ACT to be administered April 11. Contact Ms. Susan if you need help with the registration process. Juniors and seniors may be eligible for a fee waiver based on free/reduced income information.

The majority of campuses are closed today but will likely be open for classes to continue tomorrow.
Therefore, it is important for you to monitor all classes via the college/university website and check Blackboard and/or Canvas for communication from your instructor. Some instructors may also communicate directly through your email.
Continue working on assignments as directed unless told otherwise by your instructor.
